Pre-plating deburring and polishing - We have horizontal tumbling equipment, centrifugal disc equipment, and centrifugal barrel equipment. These machines can remove burrs left over from the stamping/machining process and/or polish the parts to a very smooth finish prior to plating.
Heat treatment of beryllium copper alloys - We have an oven that is designed to heat treat beryllium copper. It has a maximum temp of 700 F, and can heat treat the parts in an inert (nitrogen) atmosphere. We plate a considerable amount of beryllium copper alloys and many of our customers ask us to also handle the heat treatment of the parts prior to plating. We are comparable in price to other heat treating facilities, and our customers save several days by eliminating the need to ship the parts from the customer to the heat treater and shipping the parts from the heat treater to the plater.
Baking for hydrogen embrittlement relief - Some high strength steel alloys have a tendency to get brittle during some plating processes. They absorb molecules of hydrogen into the metal and this extra hydrogen can make the metal brittle. If the parts are baked right after plating, the hydrogen is driven out of the metal and the tendency for brittleness is reduced or eliminated. We offer this service to our customers that ask us to plate high strength alloys.
Specialized testing and certifications - We have the ability to measure thickness of coating to with a couple of millionths of an inch in a very small area of a small part. We also have the ability to steam age and solder test parts if solderablity is a critical requirement of your parts. We offer certifications of compliance (C of C's)if you require them as well.
