Merit Enterprises is a metal finishing company that has been plating parts with
precious metals, nickel, copper, tin and chrome for more than half a century.
We are obsessed with quality and on time delivery. As a result, our quality
and delivery records compare favorably against any other plating shop,
anywhere.
Merit was founded in the early 1960's to serve a small, locally based fishing
tackle manufacturer. Since that time, we have evolved into a technically
advanced leader in the plating industry. We offer several metal finishing
services including the plating of gold, silver, palladium, high-phos and mid-phos
electroless nickel, nickel sulfamate, bright nickel, copper, tin, tin/lead alloys,
and decorative trivalent chrome. We also offer deburring, polishing, heat
treatment, and hydrogen embrittlement relief services to our customers.
Our capabilities include rack, barrel, and reel-to-reel plating techniques. We
can plate very small parts (small screw machine parts smaller than 1 mm in
diameter) as well as larger parts (gold plated doors and other hardware from
fireplaces). We are very competitive, especially in larger quantities, and
return most request for quotes in less than 24 hours.
Merit's reputation for quality, technical expertise, strict adherence to
specifications, and on time delivery has allowed us to service a broad base of
customers in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, defense, medical, and
sporting goods industries. Our reel-to-reel department is presently certified to
the ISO 9000 quality system (registered by SGS). We are presently working
towards bringing the remainder of the facility under the scope of that
specification, but have not been certified yet.
Merit operates from a 20,000+ square foot facility in central Minnesota (just
two blocks from the shores of Mille Lacs Lake).
